At Killa Expeditions we are passionate about giving back to local communities, providing for the families and villages who let us use their land for trekking and camping, and supporting locally owned/run businesses. Each year we hold numerous charity events for a variety of local communities. People living in the mountains do not have access to regular medical or dental care and often don’t have basic necessities, shoes or proper clothing. If you would like to help us give back – be it time, money, supplies, clothing, shoes, medicine, and/or professional expertise (e.g. medical advice, dentistry, nursing, chiropractic adjustments, etc.) please get in touch to find out how you can help! In the future, we hope to raise funding and labor to help build schools at other communities as well as provide various professional services via volunteers such as a doctor/nurse clinic, chiropractic adjustments, dental checks, vision and hearing checks, and more!

Willoc Alto is the newest local community that Killa Expeditions helps support. One of our incredible trek chef’s is from Willoc Alto and brought his community to our attention. Every year (since 2016) we host several charity events here where we brought hot chocolate and pastries, gifts and school supplies for the children, and toiletries, medicine, food staples and produce for families. We also attend various community meetings with the villagers to discuss future needs. Willoc Alto let us know they would like a school for their older children so with the help of a wonderful woman who went on a trek with us in 2016 we finally raised enough funds to build a multi-classroom school and community workroom in the fall of 2018 through early 2019! We are so excited – stay tuned for pictures and video from this amazing project. The Chillca Community in the Rainbow Mountains is one of the local villages that Killa Expeditions helps support. This is one of the newer communities that we have started working with. Over 50 children and their families attended this event from all over the Rainbow Mountains. We brought hot chocolate and pastries, gifts and school supplies for the children, and toiletries, medicine, food staples and produce for families. As always at future events we hope to be able to provide various professional services via volunteers such as a doctor/nurse clinic, chiropractic adjustments, dental checks, vision and hearing checks, and more. The families who live in this region of Cusco receive limited support due to the distance from Cusco City. We look forward to holding more charity events in the area as well as working with them on future social projects with their input regarding needs.
Lares is one of the local communities that Killa Expeditions helps support. Each year we hold at least one charity event in their main square. Locals turn up from all over the Lares Valley, some walking several hours to participate. To this event we brought hot chocolate and pastries, gifts and school supplies for the children, and toiletries, medicine, food staples and produce for families.
